  • Be A Senator's character focus for May is Perseverance. Perseverance is the ability to keep going even when things get tough.  Senators show perseverance by setting goals for themselves and working hard to achieve them despite setbacks. Set a goal for something you want to accomplish in this last month of school. Improve your chances for success by breaking your goal down into several small, manageable steps. This will increase your motivation while helping you to avoid stress and procrastination.  Have a great week from Be A Senator.

  • Be A Senator will have a meeting this Wednesday after school in the Commons. We will vote on officers for next year. All are welcome.

  • The baseball team split a doubleheader on Friday night against Washington, losing the first one 6 to 1, but coming back to win game 2 by a 4 to 1 score. The Senators took down their 4th opponent ranked in the top 25 in the state in 3A as they have also knocked off SHG, Dunlap and East Peoria.

Jacob Scheffler took over game 2 after coming on in relief twice to put out scoring threats before dominating the rest of way on the mound. He ended up pitching 5 and a third innings allowing 3 hits and one run while striking out 5 and walking only one. His offensive support came from brother Brody and Wade Snyder who each doubled and drove in 2 runs apiece to give the Solons all they would need to pull off the upset over the Panthers. Next up is a 4:30 CS8 home game against the Generals of MacArthur tomorrow at Robin Roberts Stadium

And Now the Pledge of Allegiance:
